Couples Countdown Nr.11

Fran & Maxwell
(The Nanny)

Current status: Married, with twins Eve and Jonah
The Beginning: Maxwell hired the unconventional Fran as a nanny for his three children, but she became not only a mother for his children, but a lover to him.
Course of the Relationship: Fran was pining for Maxwell for quite some time, when he told her he loved her when their plane was about to crash. He backed out, but they kissed several times and he was really jealous when she met other men. They went to Paris together where Fran tried to seduce him, but when she almost succeeded, Niles had a heart attack. They almost slept with each other in the bed next to him, but never talked about it again, but decided to start dating. They started to call each other by their first names, when Fran went away and met an Arabian prince. Maxwell flies to rescue her and tells her he loves her. They kiss and soon afterwards, he asks her to marry him. They get married and spent their honeymoon on an isolated island.
The End & Future: In the last season, Fran gets pregnant with twins and they move to a bigger house, all happy.

When I fell in love with them: I used to love them when I first watched this show as a child and thought they belonged together.
Why I like them: His insecurity, her obvious pining, the "Mr.Sheffield" and "Miss Fine" (I just loved that, made calling each other by first name special), the very funny scenes they had together and that it took so long for them to get together. Although this was a couple in a comedy, they still managed to have chemistry and obvious attraction for each other. Their kisses were hot as hell, by the way...
Best Moment: Him asking her to marry him or way back in season 1 when Maxwell came to her reunion becasue he knew she needed a date. (CUTE!)
Saddest Moment: I think it was somewhere in season 3 or 4 when Maxwell told her that he thinks their relationship would ruin what they have and they should stay friends. They kiss and both are really sad it's not more. I thought this was one of the most real and saddest moment sin the whole show.

Why Nr.11? It's not in the top ten, because it suffers from the "Moonlighting" effect: The missing tension in season 6 was the end for the show. Plus, it's a comedy, so there are few really romantic moments.
