Save Pushing Daisies!

As mentioned in my previous post, Pushing Daisies is one the brink of cancellation and there are only 8 episodes left before it possibly ends for good. This would be very, very sad because it's one of the funniest, freshest shows out there right now. Things are not looking good right now, but fortunately several people try to save this show. This homepage for example (Link) has a petition where you can sign to save this show. Or E!'s Kristin (Link) has several other ideas how you can save this show.
And of course you really should watch this show, Wednesday night, because if more people watch it it might get renewed.

You need some persuasion? Well I got some for you:

Story:

The pie maker Ned has a big secret: He can bring dead people (and things) back to live with a touch, but he can only keep them alive for a minute or something or someone else dies. He uses this gift to solve crimes with his "business-partner" PI Emerson Cod who finds it so much easier to ask the murder victim who killed him than actually doing research. At daytime Ned works in his own restaurant, the "Pie Hole", together with Olive Snook, who's desperately in love with him. Things get complicated when he revives Charlotte "Chuck" Charles, his childhood sweetheart who has been the victim of a murder, but doesn't touch her again so she would be dead again. They fall in love all over again but can't touch because Chuck would die instantly.

ABC Starter Kit: Pushing Daisies

Reasons why I love this show:
  • The fairy-tale atmosphere. I absolutely adore the colourful sets, the design, the animations and the fact that real life and imagination seem to coexist. It's different, it's daring, it's a fairytale for grown-ups.
  • The witty and fast humour. It's sometimes so fast it makes your head spin. The script is absolutely fantastic and the puns and many alliterations are so carefully and delicately put. All in all you can see that the writers put a lot of effort in the script.
  • The drama, the cases and the sarcasm. Let's face it: It's a show about death. And although it's funny it can be slightly creepy, dramatic and the cases and deaths are sometimes pretty heavy... But that just adds to the wonderful potpourri that is this show.
  • The characters. Emerson is absolutely hilarious, Olive cute and very funny, too, Chuck's aunts are brilliant and very eccentric, Chuck is so sweet and Ned, although slightly neurotic, still warm-hearted. They are all fantastic and great in their eccentric own ways.
  • Ned and Chuck's love story. It's sooo cute. I'm usually not the girl that goes "Squeee", but they are really, really cute and the whole "No touching" thing complicates things in a very good way
