The last of three shows returning on Monday is the second of my new favourites: How I met your mother. As Barney and Robin are one of my new favourite couples, I’m really excited to see what happens with them and also looking forward to many, many funny episodes.
Where were we?
After the disastrous relationship with Stella ended, Ted’s life finally got better at the end of the fourth season when he got offered a teaching job at the university. It has been revealed in the last episode that “the mother” will be in his class.
Marshall and Lilly were buying a new apartment which soon turned out to be crooked, leaving Ted alone in their old apartment. Robin moved in with him and they had a brief fling.
Meanwhile, Barney fell in love with Robin and although he tried to deny it several times, he finally told Robin how he felt in the season finale. Robin, who also fell for him, and Barney kissed but decided to decide nothing for now.
Where were we?
- Robin and Barney will try to be in a relationship, but will have their problems
- Ted will teach his class in university and may bump into the mother any time
- Marshall will meet a stripper who looks like Lilly
- We will meet Lilly’s dad – and the reason Lilly doesn’t want kids too soon
My Predictions (aka. Wild Guesses)
Lilly might get pregnant at the end of this season. I think it’s time for them, but on the other side: Alyson Hannigan just delivered a baby, I bet she doesn’t want to carry around a fake one the next season. Barney and Robin will be together for some time, but then split mid-season and reunite at the end of this season. Ted won’t meet the mother this season, but several possible candidates, none of them will be the mother. Maybe he will meet her at the end of this season.
My wishes for season 6:
- A functioning relationship for Barney and Robin – but there can be some drama and of course comedy
- I would love Lilly to get pregnant, but other than that: Just funny moments with Marshall
- More physical comedy – with the two girls pregnant last season there was little of that
- Funny, funny stories
- I finally want to meet the mother – Or give a hint, please
