Sad news for Gossip Girl fans: The show will be on hiatus for six weeks in January, so let's savour the last episodes before it's off the air again. Barney and Robin are broken up on How I met your Mother - hope it's not forever. And I have really no idea what willl happen on Private Practice because I have yet to catch up on it, but I love Bones - and this week Booth's father will be visiting.

With Leonard, Howard and Raj away camping in the desert, an injured Penny has only Sheldon to rely on.

When Robin and Barney break up, Barney pulls out all of his greatest tricks to get himself back into the dating scene.

Monday: Gossip Girl: "The Last Days of Disco Stick" (03x10)

Hoping to impress the elitist theater kids at NYU, Blair sets her sights on landing a private concert with the hottest musical performer of the year, Lady Gaga. Dan and Olivia sign up to write and star in a school play, based on an idea by Blair and directed by Vanessa. With Blair out of the picture, Serena turns to Nate to help her get through a difficult situation. As a favor to Chuck, Jenny agrees to hang out with Damien, the son of an ambassador who is staying at Chuck’s hotel, but the experience proves to be a lot more intriguing than she expected.

As Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's pass, Miranda is visited by her father, William, who disapproves of her choices in life; meanwhile, Mark and Lexie must cope with the shocking arrival of a woman from his past, and Thatcher Grey questions the Chief's recent behavior as Meredith comes to his defense.

Thursday: Private Practice: "Sins of the Father" (03x08)

Addison is shaken by the unwelcome arrival of her father to Los Angeles, Cooper is arrested when he refuses to cooperate in a case involving a longtime patient, and Pete fights to keep a terminally ill patient alive long enough for him to meet his new daughter.
