After last week's rather weird and confusing episode, this week's episode was everything I hoped for: A lot of drama, some cute scenes and a lot of secrets. As usually, the Thangsgiving episode promised and delievered. Possibly the best episode this season yet.
Thangsgiving at the Humphrey's was supposed to be very small, Lily, Rufus, Eric, Dan and Jenny, but somehow the guest-list got longer and longer.
First, Eric and Rufus decided call Cici, Lily's mother, who then decided to drop by. This turned out to be very interesting as Rufus and the family learned that Cici had been in remission for quite some time and Lily still stayed with her. I smell a mystery there but Lily told Rufus it was just because Cici was finally nice and Lily wanted to spend time with her. Rufus believed her. I don't. I guess this is going to be intersting. And I bet it has something to do with that ominous letter.
Serena found that one, btw. But Serena had her own little rollercoaster this episode. SHe didn't want to spend time with trip because she didn't want to ruin his marriage. THan she did want to spend time with him and they kissed in an elevator, which Chuck caught on tape and Chuck then told Nate about it (Loved that Nate laughted and said that that's why Chuck loves his job). Nate, who is so in love with Serena, took that tape and showed it to Maureen, Trip's wife. Yeah, Trip and Maureen were also invited to the Humphrey-Thangsgiving party and Maureen got furious. Lily also had found out about the affair and urged her daughter to break it off. Which she did. And then she didn't. She found a letter from her father in Lily's safe and decided to go away with Trip who proclaimed his love for her. Even Nate couldn't stop her, although he practically told her he loved her.
Also present at the Humphrey-Thanksgiving was Blair and her mother. Blair suspected that her mother was pregnant (Blair saying "Mother" the whole time was hilarious) I always enjoy Blair interacting with her mother btw. They're great together. Anyway, she wasn't pregnant, just moving full-time to France. Dorota was the one who was really pregant and very shy about as she wasn't married. Cute. And I also loved the little Chuch-Blair-scene when he tels her that he will take care of Nate instead of coming with her to Paris. They're just adorable.
Aah, I almost forgot the boring part of the episode: Dan is now officially in love with Vanessa. Even her mother knows about it. Gabrielle visited again and meddled and was also at the Thanksgiving dinner. Dan played, well, amor and brought mother and daughter together again and couldn't get a smile of his face every time he looked at Vanessa. Yuck. Are they going to be together? Please don't do this to me.
Oh, and Jenny found out that Eric's the one responsible for the debutant ball fiasco. Let's see what happens there.
All in all, this was a classic and very interesting Gossip Girl episode and way better than the last one. Hope next week's going to be just as amazing.
Best Moment: Dorota: "You don't understand. We're not married. My parents gonna start the next Russian-Polish war. Russia won't be the victor once again, believe me."
Weirdest Moment: Blair: "Chuck can shop for sweaters with Harold and Roman..."
Favourite Quote:
Nate: "How did Olivia know you were (in love with Vanessa)?"
Dan: "She said she saw a look on my face."
Nate: "What, you mean during?"
-Silence-
Nate: "Oh, this is not going to be your next story for the New Yorker. I'm sending this out to an entirely different magazine"
