The episode already had another beginning than usual episodes. Well, okay, basically there was a patient and he was getting sick, but before that, Wilson and his friend were out hunting in the wood. They were celebrating his fifth year of chemo and that he was cancer free. He then had a paralysis in his arm and Wilson brought him to Princeton Plainsboro. At first, everyone thought that his cancer was back, but the diagnosis got worse by the hour. And eventually, one thing was clear: the patient and friend needed a new liver. And Wilson was willing to give him a part of his.
House (and Cuddy btw) was of course not very happy about it. I was very moved when House was telling Wilson he wouldn’t be there when he was getting the surgery because if he’d die he was alone. But he was there anyway in the end. But I’m skipping ahead:
The friend was kind of a jerk. He had separated from his wife and daughter and had now a young girlfriend. But when he was getting sicker, he returned to his wife and tried to influence Wilson by saying that he wanted a second chance. Wilson, always trying to help, eventually gave in. It was great to see this part of Wilson and the fact that he tries to help people but is also flawed because he can’t see when other people are using him.
When then guy got the liver (and a better diagnosis – Wilson had a House moment, funny) he returned to his younger girlfriend and Wilson was disappointed. It was not clear how he thought about that, but I think he was happy to see his friend live. And this whole thing also brought him closer to House: I loved when they were laughing when Wilson was recovering and that House stayed at his side. It’s a whole Bromance thing :D And I loved it.
Meanwhile, the team was treating another patient (I had to laugh so hard when Foreman, Taub and 13 rolled by trying to resuscitate the patient) and Cuddy was looking for real estate. And Wilson took the apartment Cuddy wanted (and she wanted to move in with Lucas, I think) and moved in with House. I loved when he said that she had hurt his friend after all. That was so cute.
All in all, I really, really loved this episode. It was fun and moving to see Wilson’s life and take a closer look at his relationship with House. I hear that there will be a Cuddy-centric episode somewhere down the road and I can’t wait. But for now, House is on winter-hiatus and will be back January 11th.
Best Moment: Loved that brief scene of House and Wilson laughing.
Saddest Moment: House telling Wilson he won’t be there for his operation.
Favourite Quote:Wilson: “Why did you make me the head of oncology?”
Cuddy: “Not because you have the most organs.”
Current Mood: Impressed
