How I met your Mother: "The Window" (05x10)

“I actually dated this guy” was Robin’s comment on Barney returning to his old ways, suggesting that the writers think and want us to think that the whole relationship nwas a mistake. I hate that as it makes Barney look shallow and even Robin comes off as slightly shallow, if the just keep ignoring that they have a past. A relationship based on LOVE cannot be forgotten this quickly.
This week’s episode left me with mixed feelings. It was averagely funny and had some good moments, but all in all, I’m not feeling HIMYM right now. I miss plot development and I feel as if there are more and more “filler episodes”. It’s episode 10 and the mother is nowhere to be seen; Barney is Barney again, Lily and Marshall haven’t developed in any way. And this week’s episode didn’t move the plot along either.
The main storyline was Ted, whose dream girl was finally single again. Joana Garcia, who bothered me on Gossip Girl, but on HIMY her story was actually good and I liked her a lot more. Ted did everything to keep her single, but he had to teach a class and appointed his friends to watch her. But everyone had their own problems. Marshall and Lily left because Marshall had found a letter from his 15-year-old self and was bothered that he had changed so much. Especially that he wasn’t an eco-lawyer. But he didn’t quit his job or anything. He just accepted that he had changed. No plot development. Loved teenager Marshall.
Robin was the one who took over and watched the girl. But a coworker quickly started flirting and Robin went with him to an art gallery to lure him away. He was not at all into her and desperate Robin was funny but a little pathetic. Her ex took over and Barney his own agenda. Ha had challenged himself to get laid in one of Marshall’s jeans overalls and was desperate as it wasn’t working. He then set his eye on Joana (not the character name but I don’t really care) because she thought the overall was cute. In walked Ted and the coworker all three tried to decide who’d get the girl. When they reached and agreement, the girl was gone and they found her in her apartment. And she had met a childhood friend. I loved the “second-best love story” because things like that do happen. Poor Ted btw. Another girl has slipped away.
All in all, this episode could have been better and featured no character development. Next week is the last episode this year. Hopefully it will be memorable.

Best Moment: The second-best love story
Weirdest Moment: Marshall sending himself a plate of wings from the future.
Favourite Quote:
Robin/Barney: “Challenge accepted.”

Current Mood: Little bit dissapointed
