This episode was a little bit painful, a little bit of a filler episode and sometimes very funny. Very decent one.
For a while now, there have been rumours that Booth was going to date a woman and right at the beginning, she was introduced. Catherine. A little bit like Brennan, very pretty and she flirted with Booth right away. Why was she there? Well, there was a shark with a leg in his stomach and as Catherine worked at the aquarium or something she brought him in. Andrew Hacker was also present which lead to an amusing scene where Andrew, Booth, Brennan and Catherine were all in the same room. Awkward tension and funny moments.
The case was again okay. A motivational speaker was found in one of the fish tanks, eaten by sharks and before that stabbed in the eye by a lion fish. Loved the whole “Bob is our murder weapon” thing btw. Anyway, there were of course your usual suspects, employees and so on, but it eventually turned out to be the nice 4th grade teacher who went to the aquarium with her class. She had believed the guru and then found out that he was lying and shoved him in the fish tank. (Btw. Brennan pushing down Clark was sooo funny) She had no regrets, which was very creepy. A very smiley murderer.
Anyway, the background story was of course a little bit more interesting. As already mentioned, there was Catherine and Catherine flirted with Booth: Booth’s flirting on the other hand ranged between painful and cute. He of course couldn’t date her while they were investigating (and because he’s in love with Brennan), but when he realized that Brennan was dating Hacker (still?) he got up his courage and asked her for a date. It was really weird to see Brennan and booth talking about their respective dates and later on them dating other people. The dates weren’t bad at all, which I thought they were going to be, but still both of them knew it was not the real thing. I loved the scene in front of the elevator when Booth told Brennan that she was the standard. Squeee! MY heart melted on that one. And then of course when they talked about their dates afterwards. I mean, come on, how cute is this: They go out with different people but then come back together and talk about. And did you see Brennan’s look when she talks about Catherine. She’s hurt, you can tell. Hopefully, this will lead to her facing her fears. Pretty pretty please.
Oh, I almost forgot the other people at the lab. Clark was back (I always say “Hello Clark” when he comes in, I love him. He’s probably my favourite intern) and funny as ever. He even engaged in personal advice! And then there was a cute moment with Angela and Hodgins in front of the fish tank. Very cute and romantic. Gotta love those two.
All in all, this was a decent episode. It could have been way worse and the dating part was fortunately really short. Hopefully this will stay that way.
Best Moment: Brennan pushing Clark in the fish tank.
Weirdest Moment: Angela and Hodgins have their moment. All I could think about was that Brennan's look screamed: "Awkward, awkward, very awkward”
Favourite Quote:
Brennan: “Andrew is gonna introduce me to a rat pack. He was very excited about it. They must be extraordinary rodents.”
