FOX apparently has this Rock theme this week and after House did that partly awesome, partly cringe-worthy Midnight-Train to Georgia thing, Bones had to follow with their own very cringe-worthy version of “Hot Blooded”. But more on that a little later.
The case this week brought Booth and Brennan to a Rock’n Roll Fantasy Camp. A man had been murdered and thrown into a washing machine. (Really really gross btw. The ball thing was just plain disgusting) The man has been taking part in this fantasy camp thing, but wasn’t really a rock’n roll enthusiast, some called him a poser. Of course this lead to many people hating him: Eric Dalton, a man he pranked, a woman he tried to sleep with, but in the end it was a rock’n roll enthusiast who killed him because he was just that: a poser. The case was a little weird and kinda rushed in the end. I don’t know, it was just a little improbably that the guy would kill him because he wanted to play with Eric Dalton. And I have to agree with Sweets: I like the killer better than the victim.
Meanwhile, there was some other stuff going on (as always). Arastoo was back (love him) and he was talking Baseball with Hodgins. Cute and funny. I loved when he called Hodgins on his question if he was allowed to play. Dead-pan. Very funny. And Brennan’s reaction: “I just think it’s fun to hit things”.
Cam also got a storyline this week. She was looking for a gynaecologist for Michelle and found a date. A very cute one at that. I love that she gets someone; it has been a while for her. And he is really cute. I also loved her see interact with Michelle. Cam is so unsure and adorable. And then when it reversed and Michelle told her to get a life. Funny. I hope this is going somewhere and Cam keeps this boyfriend. Please?!
Finally, there was a lot of Booth Brennan going on. Brennan kept bringing up Catherine. First she obsessed about Booth’s tie he got from her, then she talked about her in front of Sweets, then she talked with Cam about her commitment to Hacker was nothing like the way Booth wanted to commit to anyone and so on. She was really obsessed. I loved that as it shows that she does care and that she’s all jealous. She wants to know what they talk about and how far they have gone which is just adorable. I especially love d the ending, when she told Booth that he was still important to her. I felt so bad for her when she asked “You know that, don’t you?” There was so much hope and despair in her voice. And then Booth’s response was reassuring for her and us fans: yes, he does. He would even die for her.
All in all, this was an okay episode with some cute Booth-Brennan moments and a weird case. Little bit of a filler episode. Still can’t wait for next week. Kathy Reichs has written it and she’s just awesome.
Best Moment: Booth and Brennan in the bar at the end.
Weirdest Moment: Oh man, they just can’t sing. Very cringe-worthy. I loved that they did Hot Blooded as it is “their” song (got it on my mp3 player) but oh my. Also, Brennan tilting her head that way? Very weird.
Favourite Quote:
Bones: “Our partnership is still important to me. You know that, right?”
Booth: “Sure. Yeah. Die for your partner. That's the way I look at it.”
