General:
It has been one exciting season for House and for the poeple around him. After detoxing from Vicodin and having some sort of therapy (where he connected with a woman), House returned to Princeton Plainsboro and quickly realized that some things had changed: Cuddy had moved on, sort of, as she had started dating Lucas (the PI from last season House hired). This was particulary bad as House was seemingly ready to make a relationship work. Instead, he focused on getting healthy and happy without Vicodin. He moved in with Wilson who then hooked up with one of his ex-wives, which made House realize that everyone had someone - except him. Throughout the season, House kept talking to his therapist, but in the second to last episode, he was so discouraged, he decided to give up.
House's team also had some obstacles to overcome: Chace and Cameron got divorced (mainly because Chase killed a dictator), Foreman and Thirteen broke up and Taub... well, he didn't have that much to do ecept treating patients.
Finale:
For a very, very, very extensive recap, read HERE. In short: Thirteen took a leave of absence, Wilsons stays happy with his girlfriend, House and Cuddy finally kiss!
Happiest incident:
House and Cuddy kiss and can finally be together. (22)
Saddest incident:
Chace and Cameron break up. (17)
Most dramatic incident:
House helps a woman whose leg has been crushed under concrete and finally has to amputate the leg himself (22)
Weirdest incident:
A man wakes up when House tries to perform an autopsy on him (6)
Most surprising incident:
House doesn't take one pill of Vicodin the entire season.
Funniest incident:
Wilson and House's new neighbor thinks they are gay and consequently Wilson proposes to House (11)
Episodes and Characters:
Best episode:
Tie between the opener (1)/(2) and the finale (22)
Worst episode:
Tie between Knight Fall (18) and Black Hole (16). Both were kinda boring.
Best Patient:
Gotta go with Hannah from the season finale. She was the most dramatic. (22)
Favourite Quote:
Cuddy: I'm stuck, House. I keep wanting to move forward. I keep wanting to move on, and I can't. I mean, my new house, with my new fiance, and all I can think about is you. I just need to know if you and I can work.
House: You think I can fix myself?
Cuddy: I don't know.
House: 'Cause I'm the most screwed-up person in the world.
Cuddy: I know. I love you. I wish I didn't. But I can't help it
Characters:
Favourite character this season:
House. Duh.
Most disliked character this season:
Cameron. (Did she get even more moral?)
Best development:
Wilson. He finally stood up to House and Sam and took care of House.
Worst development:
Taub. Loyal to his wife. Then not. Then loyal again.
Romance and Couples:
House and Cuddy:
From hallucinated sex to her spending most of the season with Lucas, moving in, getting engaged. Then they separated and she got together with House. I'm thrilled. Good progress.
Cameron and Chase:
Happily married, divorced, sex and then goodbye. Bumpy road and sad to see them break up.
Foreman and 13:
Not that I would care as much, but they separated very early. Good that one is over.
All in all:
General rating: 9.5/10
Did my prediction (Read HERE) come true?
As already mentioned, it's pretty hard to predict House. He spent less time than I expected in the mental hospital, but I was right about House and Cuddy not coming closer in the first 12 episodes. Foreman became boss for some time, which led to a breakup. I did okay, I guess. Didn't think we'd have Huddy this year.
Summary:
I think this was an almost perfect season. I recently watched it again and I liked it again. The opener was perfect, the finale even more and there were many good episodes in between. They actually pulled a somewhat sober House off and made him look for happiness. And with "Wilson" and "5 to 9", they focused on other characters. Great season.
Current Mood: Very happy
